What are weblogs? How do I use them?

Click here if you have registered a pure beeplog account.

Click here if you have a beepworld website and want to add a beeplog to that account.

What are weblogs?

A weblog can best be explained using the phrase “online diary”. The word blog is now also used in day to day language. A blog is a website which includes recent personal data in reverse chronological order. The diary-like entries, in which you can also include images etc., can be read and commented by other users and linked to their own blogs, which in this way quickly creates a whole weblog network. The difference to a regular website is therefore the uncomplicated editing as well as the “live” and “up to date” character of the data.

Create entries for your own beeplog:

You can either create an entry in the blog by selecting “create entry” under “blog maintenance” or you can open your blog with http://username.beeplog.com/ and log in there with your “writing blog” registration data (see point 1). Now you can add an entry by selecting “create entry” in the “editor menu” at the left side – the editor is self-explanatory.

Edit the blog structure:

You can enter the blog maintenance mode over the pulldown menu which is located directly over the menu at the right side of the member area. There you can choose between homepage and blog maintenance mode.

-         under “box editing” you can change the structure of the blog to your wishes by adding feature boxes, turning them off or repositioning them. The boxes “Links” and “HTML-Box” for example can e filled individually by selecting “edit”

-         under “select design” you can decide which design should be applied to your beeplog

-         under “user rights” you can sort visitors into specific user groups with according rights, which are “owner”, “friend” and “co-author”

-         under “blog rights” you can edit the access level for certain functions of your blog. The settings for individual users can be edited under “user rights”

-         under “categories” you can create rubrics in which you entries can be sorted thematically

-         under “maintenance of your blogs” you can create additional independent weblogs (only accessible after upgrading to beeplog pro)

Enjoy your new beeplog!

The difference to a regular website is therefore the uncomplicated editing as well as the “live” and “up to date” character of the data.

There are two phases in creating a beeplog:

1.

In the first step you have to register a writing-blog-account which allows you to write in other beeplogs as a registered user. The user name can, but does not have to be the same as your usual member name.

With the data you have now obtained you can register in all beeplogs with the previously decided member name. You can login to a given weblog over “login” in the “status” box on the left side. With that you are not logging in to that specific account, but are simply proving that you possess a “writing-account.”

2.

To create your own beeplog you have to login to you regular website account with your normal user data and select the following:

Click here to add the new beeplog (online diary) to your current beepworld account. After the beeplog has bee added you can maintain it parallel to your regular homepage in the same member area.

Now you only have to decide if you want to keep the username that you have used for your “writing account” or if you want to use a new one for your beeplog.  By clicking “complete addon” your beeplog is accessible world wide over the address http://username.beeplog.com/

Create entries for your own beeplog:

You can either create an entry in the blog by selecting “create entry” under “blog maintenance” or you can open your blog with http://username.beeplog.com/ and log in there with your “writing blog” registration data (see point 1). -         under “user rights” you can sort visitors into specific user groups with according rights, which are divided into “owner”, “friend” and “co-author”

-         under “blog rights” you can edit the access level for certain functions of your blog. The settings for individual users can be edited under “user rights”

-         under “categories” you can create rubrics in which you entries can be sorted thematically
