cant see my uploaded picture

I have uploaded a picture from my computer but when i save changes it comes up with a small black framed box with a picture in it that has been ripped in two

This means that the picture is broken, meaning the filetype is not supported.

I`m trying to upload some JPEG files (approx 21 Kb each) and they do not show up on my list of pictures (0Kb of 100 Kb used) even tho is says uploed succesful... Please HELP
