About the Project

Main Time Schedule

Theatre needs to sense and artistically articulate today’s tendencies and trends in society. The “BLOGTXT Theaterfestival” (under the leadership of the Schauspielhaus GRAZ) intends to create texts for the theatre distilled from private and multi-media internet diaries (“webblogs”) and to dramatise them.

The aim of this project is to look into the way of thinking of the internet generation in the project’s partner countries (Italy, Poland, Rumania, Hungary), and to identify and investigate common grounds, differences, claims, ways and questions within the new European sphere. This will be communicated by the medium of the internet. Unbiased and unfiltered user generated content and feedback channels by publicly commenting postings are typical Web 2.0 features used by the internet community to make themselves understood to the supranational community. The creative processes of blogging, creating texts and staging theatre productions are heavily used in this project. This blasts away common borders of theatre auditorium and opens it up to the borderless virtual world of internet. Thus, theoretically infinite number of persons can watch all over the world, can interact with each other from different nations,  e.g. via our common forum, may share common views on the text, play and on their individual experiences etc. This participatory, cultural, and multi-lateral network is meant to help promoting Europe to merge to a cultural but as well social, and political context.

The co-operati on of the participating country scouts and theatres is also intended to go beyond the end of this project in order to make a sustainable contribution to the development of the co-operation between the different cultures in Europe. The project website will stay online and can be updated with new content by the regional theatres. Hence, the members of the international internet will be able to communicate with each other and to continue to read and write on the websites, blogs and forum.
