Activities

 

LSA Childminding believes routine is important for a child to feel secure in their environment. In the morning the children are generally having breakfast, followed by free play and story time/colouring. For those on a full day or after school we have many and varied activities. We have books, toys, equipment, resources and theme-based activities to stimulate development in all age groups. We also visit toddler/play groups. Some parents like their school age children to complete homework, whilst also giving the children some time to just relax after a long day at school. If time and weather permits, a trip to the local park or other local places of interest may also take place after school.

We will try to vary the activities so that the children will have the opportunity to explore many new and different things, whilst also giving them time to learn to play with others and by themselves. In addition, we will ask the children to help with setting and clearing the table at mealtimes and tidy up after activities. Hopefully this will teach them that to have fun you also have certain chores that need to be done.

Day Plan

Below is a rough guide to the activities we do during the day:

 

06:30 - 8.10am Arrivals, breakfast & Free Play

8.15am School run

9.10am - 11.30am Outing to park, toddler group (days to be arranged) or shops,

activity’s including painting, messy play, play dough, creative play, children's choice

Babies/Toddler’s can still have a nap if required

11.30am School/pre-school pick ups (if needed)

12.00pm - 12.30pm Lunch

12.45pm - 2.30pm Quiet time -naps for children who need them, group reading, computer, etc

2.30pm - 3.30pm School pick up

3.40pm - 4.50pm own choice of toys including computer (supervised if PC), children can play in the garden (weather permitting), homework

4.40pm Dinner

5.30pm onwards Watching TV/Reading/Drawing/Arts&Crafts/Games/Playing outside (supervised) until home time

This is a rough guide. Our day does varie depending on the weather, what the children want to do etc.

Our day is very flexible.

 

 In good weather, LSA Childminding will take the opportunity to use the local parks after school. During the day we will take the full time minded children to play/toddler groups or to the park. During holidays they will be more activities planned and trips and visits to places of interest
