Dwarf Lops

Dwarf Lops are a medium sized rabbit breed weighing at around 4.8lbs.  They come in many different colours and patterns.

Dwarf Lops make good pets for adults and resposible children.  They are small enough to handle but big enough too!  They also make good houserabbits for the same reasons.

Male dwarf lops often have a very loving nature, demanding attention and fuss.  They will often remain friendly without the need for neutering, however if the rabbit is a house rabbit neutering is beneficial to prevent spraying.

Female dwarf lops tend to be more independant.  They can get grumpy at around six months of age, when all the hormones are rushing about.  Females also tend (from my experience) to be more terratorial. If your female rabbit is grumpy or has phantom pregnancies, then it would be worth getting her spayed as this can calm them down a lot and is worth the money to have a calmer rabbit, it also prevents uterine cancer which is common in rabbits.

In the house an unneutered female will smell less than an unneutered male.  If you plan to keep a dwarf lop as a house rabbit you will need to protect all electrical wires from them chewing them, and also fill in any gaps the could get stuck in.
