French Lops

French lops are the giant of the Lop rabbit world, the minimum adult show weight being 10lb, its not uncommon for them to reach 14lbs+.  I have only recently started in French Lops and i enjoy them very much. I find French Lops to be very docile and affectionate.  They make good pets for adults, often instead of a dog or cat.  All rabbits can be trained to use a litter tray, and the size of a French Lop makes them ideal house rabbits.

French Lops can make good pets for children, so long as the children are not allowed to pick the rabbit up.  It is easy for a frenchie to get dropped by a chile as they are big and heavy.  However they are very affectionate and will often come to you to be fussed if out and about, so get down on the floor with them and all will be fine.

Male french lops are often more affectionate and predictable than females.  They will seek your attention and have quite comical characters.  If a male is going to be kept as a house rabbit it would mpost probably need to be neutered to prevent spraying, which can be quite unpleasant.

Female french lops are also quite docile but are slightly less predictable than the males, although spaying would help this.
